Peoplesoft Project migration steps

How to Migrate a PeopleSoft Project to New Environment:

  1. Open App Designer. Log into the database where your project is currently located.
  2. Navigate to tools>Copy Project>To Database

    3. Signon window will appear. Type in the destination database (where you want your project migrated), User ID, and Password.

    4. Copy Database window will appear. Select Options>Compare Options tab. Select Keep Customization if applicable.

    5. Select Report Filter Tab. Click Select All to view all comparison information. Click Ok to exit Upgrade Options.

    6. Click Copy to copy project to new environment.

    7. When complete, log out of current App Designer. Login to App Designer and change Database Name to project destination (where you migrated your project).

    8. Open project.

    9. Build project. Build>Project

    10. Select Create Tables. Select Execute and build script.

**IMPORTANT STEP** to prevent replacing a PeopleSoft delivered table. Click Settings, select Skip Table if it already exists.

    11. Click Ok to exit Build Settings and click Build to build project and records. Query table in SQL to ensure successful build.

*** During migration, remove any permission lists or portal registry structures from the original environment (in the Upgrade tab), and recreate them in the new environment after the migration. These objects don't work well during migration.
